Hook in4 Health
Sport plays a significant role in delivery of sustainable development goals.
Sport is a globally recognised – and increasingly utilised – vehicle to achieve development outcomes in areas such as health, social cohesion, gender equality and disability inclusion. The Australian Government strongly supports these outcomes through its targeted sport for development programs in the Indo Pacific region.
Hook in4 Health enables communities in PNG and Vanuatu to Live Well, Learn Well, Lead Well through hockey and has the following objectives:
- Hook in4 Health is a strong, collaborative sport for development partnership that removes barriers to PLAY for women, girls and people with disability, promoting enjoyment while increasing the number of active participants, including men and boys in sports for development.
- Women, girls and people with disability are more engaged and take leadership in community activities that promote learning, positive decision making, health and wellbeing while addressing gender inequality and sexual and reproductive health and rights issues.
- Hockey community engagement, ways of working and culture foster and support gender equity, safety, inclusion, active lifestyle, health, well-being community development, healthy relationships and partnerships.
