Cairns Safer Streets

Community and whole of Government partnership

The Aspire to be Deadly and Cairns Safer Streets program collaboration contribute to building cohesive and efficient services, connect communities, support the functionality of the social environment, commit to young people being healthy and engaged and above all delivering a safe space. The sport of hockey is the vehicle we use to drive positive messages, engage young people and provide a safe space to LIVE WELL, LEARN WELL, LEAD WELL.

Cairns Hockey – Aspire to be Deadly join a collaborative multi-agency, co-located group of State Government representatives delivering innovative projects through community and whole-of-government partnerships. This is a unique place-based approach in Cairns West which enables the development and implementation of innovative strategies to address underlying causal factors of complex social issues

The Aspire to be Deadly Team supports the SPAYCE AND PLACE Program delivering our HOCKEY FUN ZONE through after school programs and holiday programs. Aspire to be Deadly looks to build relationships with the young people using hockey activities as part of a mentoring and support program addressing the social issues challenging them through Live Well, Learn Well, Lead Well.
