Gulf Hockey in 202128 Jul, 2021
After a COVID19 disrupted year in 2020, the Gulf Hockey Program is set to return to Karumba in September 2021. Wes Ferns who coordinates the program for Aspire to be Deadly says: “Its great to see the festival returning to its historical base and its great to see the whole of the Gulf Community supporting this.”
The Hockey Festival is set for the last week of Term 3 and will be part of the Aspire Deadly 5’s events being delivered through the remote community and connects into the Aspire Pathways and accelerated learning programs.
Wes Ferns will be visiting each of the Gulf Communities as part of a Gulf Hockey support tour in August part of the LIVE WELL LEARN WELL LEAD WELL Programs, working with schools and community upskilling local coaching programs, working with the school students and investing in local capacity building.
Aspire to be Deadly also partner in Department of Education CLAW Programs and delivers through this program in Term 3 to support the overall commitment to supporting program delivery in the Gulf Region.
